Chronicle of the year 2022
The year is coming to an end and it will soon be time for a new year. But before that, we want to pause and reflect on the past year. Through an interview with Vreten's CEO Kristian Jonsson, we learn more about the business, the highlights of the year, the challenges the company faced and thoughts for 2023.
How would you sum up the year?
- During the year, we presented two new features, Easy crane control system and waist lock on our Trailers. Both of these are a major step in our product development to make work easier for foresters, farmers and contractors.
We also participated in Elmia Wood, the world's leading forestry fair, which we would describe as the highlight of the year for us at Vreten. Here we had the opportunity to showcase our range and talk to Swedish foresters and farmers. This is something we really appreciate. Listening to the real needs of the market and discussing solutions together is a big part of our product development.
However, it has also been a challenging year with many different factors having an impact. There is a lot going on in the forest and the weather has not been on our side. This is something that affects us as a manufacturer. Material shortages and long delivery times have been challenging and we have had to work a lot, and sometimes creatively, to find new solutions.
What lessons will you take away from 2022?
- We believe in our idea and continue to work on our product development to produce products that create real value for our customers. Now with an even higher gear. Although it has been a tough year, we are excited about 2023 and will work hard to seize new opportunities. We take many valuable lessons with us and are more motivated than ever to take the next step in continuing to develop together with our customers.
What are you most proud of in 2022?
- Our two innovations that we presented during Elmia Wood, Easy crane control system and the waist lock for our Trailers that I mentioned earlier. These are two innovations that are really in line with what we want to achieve. We want to develop innovative solutions that make a difference and add real value for our customers.
The Easysystem is the best of both worlds and creates new conditions for our customers to control their workday and adapt the settings to each day's needs. The system provides a pleasant and optimized user experience to control the crane without losing feeling. The crane control makes lifting, folding and extending interact very well and provides a smooth driving experience.
Our new waist lock has the same function as on large forwarders and is now also applicable to simpler forestry trailers. Here we have thought differently with the outriggers and really gone the extra mile to find a good solution. We make it easier for the user and increase the range without compromising the stability of the forestry trailer.
What can customers expect from Vreten in 2023?
- We have a strong focus on our product development with smart features that create real value and make a real difference. All our development is based on real-life challenges faced by our customers. We listen, understand and try to identify solutions that make a tangible difference to the user. We have many exciting ideas and a lot of news ahead of us that we look forward to presenting.
What do you think will be the most popular product of 2023 and why?
- Just like last year, I think our Vreten 1000 forestry trailer will continue to top the list. It is a really good and popular forestry trailer. Vreten 1000 is very popular with our customers and we often hear our customers say that there is nothing they won't lift with the crane. It is very powerful. Here you can read more about Vreten 1000.
