We want to make the workday easier for Swedish foresters
A challenging year is behind us and it's time to look ahead to 2022. The past year has many positive parts among all the challenges and we have interviewed our CEO Kristian Jonsson to listen to his thoughts and expectations for 2022.
How would you sum up Vretens 2021?
- As many of you know, 2021 was a year filled with challenges for everyone in the industry. We have seen major side effects of the heat from 2018 and the last few years have been affected by the bark beetle that hit us worldwide. But after rain comes sunshine, and during the pandemic, demand for timber has increased. Exports to the United States, for example, have risen, which means that foresters are getting paid well for their material.
What's the best thing from 2021 that you're taking with you into 2022?
- We have had significantly more customers buying Vreten. There has been an increase in confidence among our dealers. We are very proud of that and continue to work actively to capitalize on that opportunity.
What can customers expect from Vreten for 2022?
- We are actively working on a new innovation to be launched this year. With this product, we will be able to offer our customers a smoother and faster alternative at a really attractive price. We are really looking forward to this and see a great potential in the product to facilitate and streamline for Swedish forestry - at a very good price.
Will Vreten make any changes for 2022?
- We have just made investments in the factory that will help us save energy through large heat pumps that harness the energy in our drying halls at the paint departments. The reduced energy consumption allows us to keep price increases for our customers down and provides a smaller carbon footprint. We are also continuing our automation by rebuilding our welding robot in 2022 to accommodate welding larger units.

- I highly recommend our bestseller Vreten 1000. It's a popular and well-liked product that is flexible, just the right size and suitable for most people. It has a powerful crane and can be equipped with a smart hub drive.
- Another product that I would like to highlight is Vreten X-pro which is a bit of a hidden gem. It is a real professional product developed as a forwarder with high-strength steel throughout the construction, but provides the advantages of a tractor rig when it comes to being able to move quickly and easily between different forest parcels.
